2. Features And Technical data
The products described in this manual are mainly destined to the application in combination with
alternative positive-displacement pump (with membranes or pistons) on machines for protection tre -
atments of agricultural crops or on systems for pumping water or water solutions (see also paragraph
“
INTENdEd USE
”).
The control unit is made up of a pressure relief /regulating valve and of shutting-off/distributing devi -
ces for the pumped liquid.
A pressure relief/regulating valve is a device that allows to adjust the working pressure and leaves
the pumped liquid returning towards the by-pass hose leading to the tank, thus avoiding the onset of
dangerous pressures when you close the outlets or when you try to set pressure values above the
maximum allowed ones.
From here on we will call the pressure relief/regulating valve simply pressure valve.
A pressure valve maintains the set pressure almost unchanged when the rotation speed of the con-
nected pump changes. This brings a product distribution depending on the machine speed: the higher
the machine speed is, the lower will be the product distribution and vice-versa.
A throttling valve operates so as to change the pressure proportionally to the delivery and therefore
to the rotation speed of the connected pump. This brings constant product distribution, independently
of the machine advancing speed, when proceeding with the same gear. The same effect will be main -
tained even in case of ± 10% pump speed changes from the the initial value.
The
anti-drip back suction
is a device that allows to immediately stop the product delivery avoiding
useless drippings. For a perfect operation of the anti-drip back suction, we recommend to use anti-
dripping filters or nozzle holders with diaphragm check-valve.
CAUTION
The maximum pressure and delivery data indicated in the following chart refer to the models with
higher performances. For different applications, other models are available. Always check and never
overcome the maximum pressure and delivery values of the control unit indicated on the identification
plate.
