2.5 Electrical connection
1)
CAN UP 27
is powered from external power source (e.g. electrical onboard network of
Vehicle) through S6 cabling system in accordance with pin assignment of
S6
connector
(see table 5).
Note – CAN UP 27 can work up to 5 hours from inbuilt battery without external power supply.
IMPORTANT:
1)
Before mounting and connecting CAN UP 27 switch off power supply of the
Vehicle electrical circuits. To do this switch off the battery switch or release
the terminals of the wires connected to the battery.
2)
Prior to electrical connection of the sensor pay special attention to checking
Vehicle
chassis ground. Resistance between any point of vehicle chassis and
―-‖ terminal of the battery or between terminals of the chassis ground switch
should not exceed 1 Ohm.
3)
When connecting CAN UP 27 to onboard electrical network of Vehicle, use
fuses
from delivery set in accordance to scheme of connection. Nominal fuse current
is not more than 2 A.
4)
It is
strongly recommended
to lay CAN UP 27 signal cable together with
the standard vehicle wiring with the mandatory tie-wrap fixing of every 50 cm,
at positive ambient temperature.
2)
Digital CAN/S6 interface (see
1.4.3
) connection of CAN UP 27 should be done in accordance
to designation of
S6
connector pins (see table 5).

ATTENTION:
To ensure correct data transfer through CAN (J1939) communication
link when connecting CAN UP 27 to Units not equipped by terminating resistor
(for example, MasterCAN DAC15/CC/V-GATE), connect
S6 CW plugs
(purchased
separately) to ends of communication links between CAN LOW and CAN HIGH wire
(see figure 17).
