General Instructions For Set-Up

The steps required to set up an Educational DaVinci are presented below. Each step is
outlined briefly here, and explained in detail in subsequent sections of this manual.

1.  Remove the contents from the crate, and check each item against the Materials

Checklist.

2.  Install the spindle mounting bracket and the spindle.

 

(The 8'x8' DaVinci comes

with these already installed.)

3.  Mount the CAM clamps and the clamp bars.
4.  Set up the electronics:

Connect the serial cable from the PC to the DaVinci.

Connect the spindle to the DaVinci.

Attach the power cord.

5.  Install the safety cover.
6.  Load the software.
7.  Perform a self-test.
