ADJUSTING THE VOLUME

To 

increase

 the volume – Rotate the volume knob 

clockwise.

To 

decrease

 the volume – Rotate the volume knob 

anticlockwise.
Important Note:

 Always refrain from turning the 

volume knob to very loud settings, especially on 

CD, as the distortion is unpleasant to listen to and in 

extreme cases could damage the loudspeakers or 

your hearing.

USING THE CD PLAYER

Preliminaries

•  Set the FUNCTION SWITCH to ‘CD’.
•  Open the CD door with the finger lift at the right 

hand side of the door.

•  Before first use, remove the protective card from 

the CD compartment.

•  Place a CD (label up) on the central spindle.
•  Press gently to secure the CD in place.
•  Close the CD door.
The disc will spin briefly and then 

stop. The display indicates the number 

of tracks on the disc.

To Play A CD

•  Press the PLAY/PAUSE button 

.

•  The disc will play from Track 1 and the Play icon 

will light up.

To Pause A CD While Playing

•  Press the PLAY/PAUSE 

 button.

•  The disc will pause. In Pause mode 

the sound mutes and the display 

flashes.

•  Press PLAY/PAUSE 

 again to resume play.

To Stop A CD While Playing

•  Press the STOP   button. The play 

icon extinguishes.

To Play A CD From A Selected Track

•  Insert the CD.
•  Press SKIP 

 or 

, repeatedly to select the 

track.

•  Press PLAY/PAUSE 

 to play from the track.

To Change Tracks During Play

•  Press SKIP 

 or 

 repeatedly, 

to select and then play from the 

desired track.

To Go Back To The Start Of A Track During Play

•  Press SKIP 

 once.

To Search For A Particular Passage During Play

•  Press and hold SKIP 

 or 

 until the desired 

passage is located. During the search the sound 

is played faster than normal and at a reduced 

volume.

•  Play returns to normal when SKIP 

 or 

 is 

released.

Repeating A Track Or A 

Complete Disc

A single track or the complete disc 

may be repeated.
•  Press the REPEAT button to 

cycle the repeat mode:

•  Repeat can be selected when 

a disc is playing or stopped.

•  Search and track select operate in Repeat mode.
•  Press STOP   to cancel Repeat and stop the disc.

Program Play

Program play should be selected when the CD is 

stopped.

To Select And Play A Program

•  Press PROGRAM. The 

‘PROGRAM’ indicator lights. The 

display briefly flashes 1 and then 

indicates

•  Press SKIP 

 / 

 to select the 

track.

•  Press PROGRAM to store the 

selection. The display briefly 

flashes

•  Choose another track. The display 

flashes the chosen track.

•  Press PROGRAM to store the selection. (You may 

choose up to 20 tracks in this way)

•  Press PLAY/PAUSE 

. The program will play 

once and stop.
