7 Replacing the Tension Springs
The tension springs should preferably be replaced by the TE Connectivity customer service department.

Do not reach into the blade area (see Figure 1) Risk of injury!
Handle spring (see Figure 7).
1. Pull off the handle
2. Remove the handle replacement spring with a tool, e.g. pliers.
3. Insert a new handle replacement spring.
4. Fit the handle.
Tool head spring (see Figure 8)
1. Remove the tool head replacement spring with a tool, e.g. pliers.
2. Insert a new tool head replacement spring.
8 Maintenance and Repairs
8.1 Daily Maintenance
To perform daily maintenance on the hand tool carry out the following steps:
1. Remove any dust, humidity and other residue from the tool using a clean, soft brush. Do not use hard
or abrasive media that could damage the tool.
2. Make sure the bearing studs are inserted and held in position by the lock washers (see Figure 9). The
headless screw retaining the adjustment wheel must be secure (see Figure 9).
