7 Crimping procedure
Based on the wire cross-section and the relevant processing specification, determine the right crimp-
ing die for the terminal to be processed. Proceed as follows to crimp the terminal:
Close the handles until the ratchet releases and allows you to fully open the handles.
Note: The ratchet mechanism makes audible clicks when you close the handles. It releases after the
last click.
First adjust the crimping die to the right position for the terminal to be processed.
To do this, pull out the die latch slightly and then slide the crimping die. Move the crimping die to
the right position for the wire cross-section to be processed, so that the desired cross-section can
be seen in the window.
Then move the die latch back to the latched position.
