Changing or replacing the needle
Replace the needle regularly, at the
latest as soon as it causes sewing
problems.
To replace the needle (or to change the
needle):
1. Using the hand wheel, raise the
needle to its highest position.
2. Lower the presser foot lever.
3. Loosen the clamping screw.
4. Remove the needle.
5. Check that the new needle is in
perfect condition (for instance the
tip is not bent).
6. Insert the new needle with the flat
side to the rear.
7. Push the needle upwards as far as it
will go.
8. Tighten the clamp screw again.
Replacing the lamp bulb
!
Caution:
Watch out that the bulb is not still
hot!
1. Open the lamp cover by loosening
the screw on the side with a Philips-
head screwdriver.
2. Unscrew the bulb.
3. Insert a new bulb of the same kind
(maximum 15 Watts).
4. Replace the lamp cover and fix it in
place with the screw.
