OPERATION - Important Points
- Before commencing cutting it is advisable to make a complete check of the
cutter. The crossjoints should be greased, the oil levels in the multipliers should be
checked, and all nuts and screws tightened.
- The stabilizers of the lower arms of the tractor shoud be adjusted with the cutter
completely raised.
- When connecting and disconnecting the cardan shaft, the drive shaft should
be disconnected.
- The drive shaft should be disconnected during transport or whilst any type of
checks are made of the cutter.
- The ideal operating rotation speed of the drive shaft is 540 rpm. Check the
corresponding engine speed in the tractor manual.
- For best performance we recommend that the cutting height be a minimum
of 40 mm above the ground.
- For best results, the area to be cut should be free off stumps and stones.
- The cutter should be put in operation before commencing cutting.
- In very dense vegetation we recommend moving at a slower pace, maintaining
the drive shaft rotation speed at a constant 540 rpm.
- Whenever there is an overload, there will be slippage in the drive belts and
operation should be halted immediately and the cutter raised.
- It is important to maintain the drive belts completely stretched.
- On excessively bumpy terrain, the cutting height should be regulated so as to
avoid excessive contact between the blades and the ground.
- Do not connect the drive shaft with the cutters stuck in piles of earth, logs or
stumps.
- Do not vary the tractor speed as this will result in inefficient cutting. Maintain a
medium speed throughout operation.
- Recommended average speed = 4 to 6 km/h.
