TASCAM DM-3200 Release Notes V1.50
New Features in V 1.20
FireWire card support
By installing an IF-FW/DM FireWire interface card (sold
separately), it is now possible to transfer audio data between
your computer and a DM-3200. An IF-FW/DW card can
only be installed into
Slot 1
.
Surround monitor card support
Integrated surround monitoring can be added to the
DM-3200 by installing an IF-SM/DM surround monitor
card (sold separately). An IF-SM/DM card can be installed
into either
Slot 1
or
2
.
Naming the mixer
DM-3200 Ver1.20 allows you to set and edit mixer names.
Remote operation through MMC
Now you can remotely operate external transports from a
DM-3200 using the MMC (MIDI Machine Control) protocol.
MIDI control
External MIDI devices can be controlled from the DM-3200
using MIDI Control Change and Program Change Messages
using the new external controllers:
MIDI fader

MIDI control-
ler
, and
MIDI mixer
.
Assigning parameters to rotary encoders
DM-3200 now allows you to assign which parameters are
controlled from the rotary encoders.
Cascade connection
A cascade connection can be made between two DM-3200 units.
GPI functionality
DM-3200 can now remotely control external devices using
a GPI signal output.
Expanded dynamic automation function
The dynamic automation function of the DM-3200 can
now capture buss assignments, effect parameters, and
image parameters.
Scrolling indicators for the supported
device list in the machine control screen
If the list of supported devices in the right side of the
machine control screen does not fit in the screen, arrows
will appear at the top and bottom.
MMC command type added
The commands transmitted from the DM-3200 when you
perform a JOG operation can now be matched to the device
being controlled. You can choose either Search (46h) or
Step (48h). For details, refer to the operating manual of the
device you are controlling.
This setting is made in the
REMOTE>MC SETUP
screen's
MMC Command Type
area.

Transmission of locate commands when
editing a locate point
When you use the
EDIT
key located in the
MACHINE
CONTROL
section of the top panel to
ENTER
or edit a locate
point, a LOCATE command is now transmitted when you
press the
ENTER
key to store the memory.
This allows you to locate a connected device at the same
time that you edit the locate point.
