Note (5)
:
The level of cooling/heating is indicated by a red LED at the upper right of the test unit.
The led is continuously lit to indicate full output (100%), extinguished to indicate no output
(0%), and flashes to indicate any intermediate output levels. As the output level is nearly
always changing, the led is almost always flashing. If the lamp remains dark for an
extended period of time, the thermo-module connections may be faulty.
6.2.2. Light Intensity Measurement Check
※
This step is only applicable to cloud point testing modes (“CP” or “PP/CP” displayed in the test
mode field).
Immediately upon starting the test, the intensity of light incident upon the cloud point sensor is
measured and displayed in the EXP.PP field. This is done during the three seconds that the
Expected pour/cloud point is displayed in the current specimen temperature field.
After three seconds, the current specimen temperature and EXP.PP fields return to normal
(

),
with the bath temperature field displaying the following information depending on test mode:
Test mode PP/CP
⇒
The cloud point temperature sensor temperature is displayed (
Fig.

).
Test mode PP or CP
⇒
The field is blank.
Note (6):
During testing operations, the value displayed in the EXP.PP field can be toggled between
Expected pour point and current cloud point sensor temperature by pressing either the up
or down arrow key.

Fig. 10 Cloud Point Temperature Display (Test mode PP/CP only)
If the intensity of light measured by the cloud point sensor is not in the range of 10% to 90%, the
cloud point cannot be tested and the following error messages are displayed:
Test mode PP/CP
⇒
TRBL is displayed in the cloud point temperature field, but pour point testing
continues (see Fig. 11 on page 22).
Test mode CP
⇒
The test ends, and the error message shown in Fig. 12 on page 22 is
displayed.
