3.1. Dividing the loop into sections
Divide the loop into three sections according to the figure.
two transition zones near the points and
the inner section of the loop.
Isolate
at the transition to the points: both rails;
at the transition to the terminal loop´s inside: the outer rail in both cases.
The transition zones should be about half as long as the longest locomotive, the inner section
as long as the longest train. A train within the loop should never bridge both transition zones
simultaneously!
