G. Transporting and Storage
WARNING
Transport engine with fuel tank EMPTY, fuel or fuel vapor may result in fire.
When storing engine for more than 30 days:
1.
Store in a dry and clean area.
2.
Run engine until fuel tank is empty and engine stops or add gasoline preservative.Run engine for several
minutes after adding to circulate preservative.
WARNING
Gasoline is flammable. Fuel or fuel vapors may explode. Keep sparks and open flames from the working
area.
3.
Change engine lubrication oil. (see Page 12)
4.
Remove spark plug; pour one soupspoon of fresh engine oil into cylinder. Reinstall spark plug but do not
attach spark plug wire. Pull starter rope slowly several times to distribute the oil in the engine.
5.
Slowly pull starter rope until feels force against you. Stop pulling. At that point, valves are closed, that will
prevent dust and rust from entering cylinder.
