Before using the charger
Notice
Turn the radio off before removing the battery,
and turn it on again after attaching the battery. This
ensures that the radio powers down and up correctly.
Failing to follow this procedure may require the radio
to be turned off then on again to operate correctly.
Handle the battery safely
Warning
Handle the battery safely. Failure to
observe the following handling recommendations
could result in personal injury and/or equipment
damage.
■
Before using a Li-ion battery, please read the
Li-ion Battery Safety Information (MPD-00024-xx
for IS-batteries and MPC-00006-xx for non-IS bat-
teries) included with your battery, and follow the
instructions it provides. Incorrect use of a Li-ion
battery can cause explosion or fire.
■
Do not short-circuit the battery contacts, neither
intentionally nor accidentally, e.g. by placing the
battery with conductive materials such as keys or
jewelry inside a pocket or container. Short-
circuiting the battery contacts can heat up the con-
ductive material.
Attaching of labels
Warning
Do not obstruct the vent hole on the battery
or the vent hole on the radio chassis label. If the vent
on the battery is obstructed the battery may explode,
causing personal injury and/ or damage to property. If
the vent on the radio is obstructed, audio quality and/
or key function may deteriorate and radio seals may
be damaged.
