Use
The functions and layout of the keys is similar to that on an ordinary keyboard. Function keys can be accessed directly.
Certain functions require the TACTYS (10 green rectangle) key to be pressed at the same time to access the function
marked in green or the character underlined in green. For example:
• To lower or increase the volume of the beep press F11 or F12
• To make the beep more or less high-pitched, press F7 or F8
• To increase or lower the sensitivity, press F9 or F10.
• To print the screen, press “Print screen/ pause” (8)
• To lock the keyboard for cleaning, press “padlock delete” (9)
The level of adjustment of the beep or its sensitivity can be seen the moment it is adjusted. A series of LEDs 1 – 5 come
on when the keys are combined.
The capacitive touch sensor technology with which TACTYS keyboards are equipped means comfortable and fluid
typing without applying pressure to the keys. The keyboard is splash-resistant, but does not operate if immersed in
liquid. It can take steam and temperatures up to 70°.
Cleaning the keyboard
The keyboard is protected to IP65 standard and its tempered glass impact surface can withstand all disinfectant
solutions used in hospitals, lavatories or clean rooms.
When cleaning, it is recommended to lock the keyboard (TACTYS key 10 + 9 padlock/delete); the red indicator light
comes on: the keyboard and touchpad are inactive. To reactive them, repeat the same operation.
USAGE RESTRICTIONS
• Do not use the keyboard in a drawer where a metal section could be less than 40 mm from the glass surface and the
drawer closed.
• Do not connect the two classic TACTYS keyboards to the same computer unless using a USB version and a PS2 or a
wired or wireless version, for example. This restriction does not apply to SLIM 711 and 811 keyboards.
