Cutterbar
Take care that worn bearings and gear wheels must be replaced in time. Otherwise a
single damaged bearing might cause damage to the whole cutterbar. Use the correct
back-stop when pressing new bearings into the gear wheel/bearing housing. Only
press the bearing ring which is pressed into the gear wheel/bearing, - otherwise new
bearings might be damaged when fitting.
Order No. for tool set and repair set, - see spare parts list.

Intermediate gear: Inspection of intermediate gear can be carried out through the collar bearing's
holes. Intermediate gears can only be dismantled through opening in the right hand side of the
cutterbar, but gear at
L
(see ill.
5
) on models 4028 - 4028 C - 4036 - 4036 C can be removed
through the collar bearing hole. These gears are smaller than the other. Note the following when
replacing the bearings:
•
When pressing out the bearing, sealing ring
A
is pressed into pieces. Use a new sealing ring
when fitting a new bearing.
•
Check that the gaskets
B
and
D
is not damaged. The thread surfaces on bolt
C
must be
locked with LOCTITE type 242. The torque setting is Nm = 90.
2
............
Collar bearings: Press the bearing into the bearing housing. Keep the inner ring of the bearing in
position when the flange axle is pressed into the bearing. See also
G
and
H
in the following
paragraph.
3
............
Collar bearings in the left- and righthand side: Fit the new bearings in the succession shown
2.1, 2.2. and so on. Take care of the following before fitting flange
E
:
•
Fit the hollow space of the flange, shown at
G
, with grease of good quality. Fit spline
F
in
the gear wheel hub so that the shaft of the flange is located safely on its place when it is pressed
down.
•
The thread surfaces on the bolt
H
must be locked with LOCTITE 242. Torque setting 50 Nm.
4
............
Fixing of collar bearings: Lock the bolts
J
by means of nabs
I
. Torque moment is 90 ± 3
Nm. Check that the gaskets
K
in the loose threaded pins are not damaged. Use the bolt and
bushing kit
R
for the collar bearings in the right- and lefthand side.
5
............
Synchronizing: Before fitting the collar bearings, ensure that the collar bearing flanges are in
determined positions relative to each other. This is especially important for the 1st and 2nd discs
on models 4028 - 4028 C, 4036 and 4036 C as these discs rotate in the same direction.
Synchronisation is obtained as follows:
•
Fit the 1st collar bearing, - turn the flange so that the marked edge
M
turns to the rear. Note:
The flange on this collar bearing is equipped with 4 pcs. threaded holes.
•
Fit the 2nd collar bearing. Turn the flange so that the marked edge
N
turns forward in drive
direction before lowering the gear wheel into mesh. Continue with this procedure when mounting
the other collar bearings
P
,
Q
etc.
