Getting started
Your Speedport OptoLAN is a high quality device that will only operate
to your full satisfaction if you comply with all the requirements for star-
tup.
Put your Speedport OptoLAN into service as follows:

Unpack and check the package contents
■
Set the device up
■
Connect the POF cable
■
Connect the Ethernet cable
■
Connect the device to the power supply

Checking the package contents
Before you put your Speedport OptoLAN into service, you should
check it carefully to make sure it is not damaged.

Is there any visible damage to the
packaging
, indicating that the
device could have been dropped during transport?
■
Is there any visible damage to the
casing
or the
plug-in power sup-
ply
or
the network cable
?
Never put the device into operation if it is damaged!
If you have any
doubts, you should contact T-Com Customer Service (see page 11).
Note
Keep the original device packaging. You can use it to
transport the device during a move or to dispatch it else-
where.
