Chapter 2: Hardware Setup
To install the network interface card:

Press and hold the power button until you hear a beep sound to shut down your DiskStation. Disconnect all
cables connected to your DiskStation to prevent any possible damages.

Remove the screws on the back of DiskStation, and then pull the top cover.

Install the network interface card.

Unscrew the 2 screws in the port access bracket, and then remove the bracket and port access cover.

Align the card’s connector with the expansion slot.

Insert the card into the slot.
Important:
Make sure the connector is fully inserted. Otherwise, the network interface card might not be able to
function properly.

Replace the port access bracket, and tighten the 2 screws to secure the network interface card.

Replace the top cover, and tighten the screws you removed in step 2.
