1.2 Terminology
This document uses the terms as follows:

RAID is the abbreviation of

. There are different RAID levels with different degree
of the data protection.

isk belongs to the member disk of one specific
volume group.
VG

olume
G
roup. One VG consists of a set of UDVs and owns
one RAID level attribute.
UDV

ata

olume. Each VG could be divided into different
UDVs. The UDVs from one VG share the same RAID level,
but may own the different volume capacity.
CV

ache
V
olume. Each UDV will be associated with one specific
CV to execute the data transaction. Each CV could own the
different cache memory size.

umber. LUN is the logical volume, which the
