Under Date Range, in the From and Through drop-down lists, select the starting and ending
months for the time range.
In the Day and Year text boxes, you can type in the starting and ending day and year or use the
buttons to increment and decrement them.

Optionally, on the Description tab, type a more detailed description than you typed in the Caption
text box.

Do one of the following:

To save your configuration now and activate later, on the toolbar click
Save
.
■
To activate your configuration now, on the toolbar click
Activate
.
When prompted to save your changes, click
Yes
.

You can use the time period range as follows:
■
Use several time period ranges together by creating a time period group.
■
Apply the time period range to traffic through the security gateway by creating a rule.
■
Use the time period range to control when notifications are sent.

Configuring a time period group
A time period group is a group of time period ranges, joined together in an inclusive OR relationship.
Once you have configured time period ranges for your security gateway, you can put them together in
groups to further refine access periods.
Prerequisites
Complete the following task before beginning this procedure:

To configure a time period group

In the SGMI, in the left pane, under Policy, click
Firewall
.

In the right pane, on the Time Periods tab, click
New
>
Time Period Group
.

In the Time Period Group Properties dialog box, on the General tab, do the following:

On the Time Periods tab, in the Available list, select the time period range you want to include in
the group and click the right-arrow >> button to move it to the Selected list.

Optionally, on the Description tab, type a more detailed description than you typed in the Caption
text box.
Name
Type a unique name for the time period group.
Caption
Type a brief description of the time period group.
