Controlling traffic at the security gateway
Controlling traffic by date and time
Controlling traffic by date and time
When you create rules, you can restrict access to resources by a time period range or group of time
periods. You can also specify time periods when you create notifications, to limit when an
administrator is notified about security gateway behavior.
You can specify the time periods by doing either of the following:
■
Configuring a time period range
■
Configuring a time period group
Configuring a time period range
A time period range used in a rule or notification specifies a single window of time for access. It
specifies a time and date combination, such as July 1, 2000 through July 31, 2000 or Monday through
Wednesday or 4 PM through 6 PM. Templates can also mix days and times, such as 4 PM through 6 PM
from July 1, 2000 through July 31, 2000 or 4 PM through 6 PM on Monday through Wednesday.
Once you have configured several time period ranges, you can create time period groups.
