Spark Plug Inspection
Have the spark plug checked by an authorized SYM dealer. If the electrodes are contaminated with heavy
deposits or the insulator is damaged, replace with a new one.
Measure the spark plug gap with a wire type
feeler gauge. The gap should be within 0.7 ~ 0.8 or 0.8 ~ 0.9 mm. If adjustment is needed, bend the side
electrode

Recommended spark plug: NGK CR8E (CRUiSYM
α 300), gap: 0.7 ~ 0.8 mm
Recommended spark plug: NGK CPR8EA-9 (CRUiSYM
α 125), gap: 0.8 ~0.9 mm
WARNING:
Beware of the engine heat when inspecting the spark plug.
Air Cleaner / V-belt Air Cleaner Inspection
A dirty air cleaner element can reduce the engine performance and increase fuel consumption.
Inspect the air cleaner by following the below instructions.
Remove the screws

and remove the air box cover

Remove the screws

to take out the air cleaner element.
If the air cleaner element

is damaged or too dirty, have it changed by an authorized SYM dealer.
To install the element, do in the reverse order of the above instructions.
Remove the air box drain hose

Remove the bolts

and take out the left crankcase cover

If the V-belt air cleaner element

is damaged or too dirty, have it changed by an authorized SYM
dealer.
NOTE :
CRUiSYM
α 125 does not equip with v- belt air cleaner.
Make sure to keep the dust from entering the inlet pipe during inspection.
Use SYM genuine air filter element to ensure the engine performance.
