Safety precautions
Warning:
Read the safety precautions and the user guide before use.
Explain their contents and the potential hazards associated with using the telephone to your children.
Only use the mains adapter supplied, as indicated on the underside of the base station.
Fit only the
recommended rechargeable batteries (page 31)
of the same type! This
means that you must not use any other battery type or non-rechargeable batteries as this
could result in significant health risks and personal injury.
Insert rechargeable batteries with the correct polarity, and use them according to this user
guide (polarity symbols can be seen, for example, in the handset's battery compartment,
page 5).
The operation of medical appliances may be affected. Be aware of the technical conditions
in your particular environment, e.g. doctor's surgery.
Do not hold the rear of the handset to your ear when it is ringing or when the handsfree
function is activated. Otherwise you risk serious and permanent damage to your hearing.
The handset may cause an unpleasant humming noise in hearing aids.
Do not install the base station in bathrooms or shower rooms. The handset and base sta-
tion are not splashproof (page 29).
Do not use your phone in environments with a potential explosion hazard, e.g. paint
shops.
Ensure that your Aton CL700 IP is accompanied by this user guide when you give it to
others to use.
Information about disposal
At the end of its service life this product must not be disposed of among the normal house-
hold refuse. Instead, it must be handed in at a sales outlet or at a collection point for recy-
cling electrical and electronic devices in accordance with regulations governing the
return, taking back and disposal of electrical and electronic devices (ORDEA).
The materials can be recycled as indicated. By recycling materials and reusing or utilising
old appliances in any other way you are making an important contribution to the protec-
tion of the environment.
Note:
– When the keypad lock is active you cannot even call emergency numbers!
– Not all of the functions described in this user guide are available in all countries. CLIP (calling line
display), SMS (Short Message Services) and "Swisscom Voice Portal": the functions are dependent
on the network provider.
– EATONI predictive text: EATONI predictive text helps you when you are writing SMS messages.
It can be activated or deactivated (page 22).
– Instant messaging is not currently supported by the "Bluewin" service provider.
