4. Commissioning
The kitchen must have separate general
ventilation. The general ventilation in the
kitchen must not be routed via the cooker
hood damper when the cooker hood's duct
is connected to the ventilation unit's separate
extract air duct.
The basic air flow setting is made (damper
closed) by opening the existing hole in the
damper. On delivery, all the holes for basic air
flow are sealed. See the control curve for basic
ventilation in the “Technical data” section.
The air flow is obtained by measuring the
pressure differential across the control damper
inside the cooker hood and then reading the
air flow that corresponds to the control
position. Measure the pressure in the hole
next to the control damper arm as shown in
the diagram to the right. There is a rubber
bushing with a hole to read the air flow in the
cooker hood’s accessory bag.
Measured pressure differential
Measured pressure differential
The measurement of the air flow for boosted
ventilation is also performed via the hole in
the damper. After measurement, the hole can
be blanked off with the extra plugs included
in the delivery.
Ventilation balance
It is important that the home’s ventilation
is balanced when the cooker hood is used,
as the excess extract air that passes via the
hood causes negative pressure in the home.
Balancing occurs automatically when the
cooker hood is connected to a Smart ventila-
tion unit. The function is taken in use and also
controlled via a SMART ventilation unit.
Operation with power roof ventilator
Swegon CASA cooker hoods can be used to
control a power roof ventilator, equipped with
an EC-fan.
Connect the EC-power roof ventilator’s
control cable to the cooker hood using the
supplied connector
(see the Electrical wiring diagram, item 8).
The default factory setting is for the cooker
hood to control the power roof ventilator as
a boost function with three speeds, except
the OFF position. Use of the OFF-position is
programmed from the cooker hood. When
the OFF function is used, all the speed indica-
tion signal lamps go out and the power roof
ventilator is set to the OFF position when the
fan speed button is pressed a fourth time.
Commissioning the OFF position
• Long press both the fan speed selector
and damper control buttons ( + ) =>
the centre signal lamp for speed indication
is on indicating that the control mode is
activated.
• The OFF position is indicated by a flash-
ing LED. Change the selection with the
fan speed selector and damper control
buttons:
- fan speed
OFF
right-hand signal lamp flashes
- fan speed
ON
left-hand signal lamp flashes
• Acknowledge the selection with a long
press of the cooker hood’s lighting button
.
