DRIVE CHAIN
Check the drive chain slack through the inspection
window.
Drive chain slack: 15–25 mm
If it is too tight or too loose, follow these procedures.
1. Remove the bolt to take off the chain case cover.

2. Loosen the rear axle housing bolts

.
3. Adjust the slack in the drive chain by turning the
right and left chain adjuster nuts

equally.
4. When proper slack is obtained, tighten the bolts

B
.
5. Tighten the adjusting nuts

6. Reinstall the chain case cover.

: 94 N·m (9.4 kgf-m)
Rear axle housing bolt

: 110 N·m (11.0 kgf-m)
Chain adjuster nut
C
: 15 N·m (1.5 kgf-m)
Verify that the master link clip is installed properly.
The opening of the master link clip faces away from
the direction of travel.

Make sure that the rear sprocket is properly
aligned with the engine sprocket by sighting
down along the chain from the rear end of the
vehicle.
