OIL SEALS AND BEARINGS
INSPECTION
Damage to the lip of the oil seal may result in leakage of the fuel-
air mixture or transmission oil. Inspect the oil seal and if it is dam-
aged, replace it with a new one.
Wash the bearing with a cleaning solvent and lubricate it with
motor oil before inspection. Turn the inner ring and check to see
that it turns smoothly. If it does not turn quietly and smoothly, or if
there are signs of any abnormalities, the bearing is defective and
must be replaced with a new one.

REMOVAL
• Remove the oil seals using the special tool.

Replace the removed oil seals with new ones.
• Remove the bearings using the special tool.
