SIDE STAND/IGNITION INTERLOCK
SYSTEM
Check the side stand/ignition interlock
system for proper operation as follows:
1. Sit on the motorcycle in the normal
riding position, with the side stand
up.
2. Shift into first gear, hold the clutch in,
and start the engine.
3. While continuing to hold the clutch
in, move the side stand to the down
position.
• Do not use an external repair plug to
repair a puncture since the plug may
work loose as a result of the corner-
ing forces experienced by a motor-
cycle tire.
• After repairing a tire, do not exceed
80 km/h (50 mph) for the first 24
hours, and do not exceed 130 km/h
(80 mph) thereafter. This is to avoid
excessive heat build-up which could
result in a tire repair failure and tire
deflation.
• Replace the tire if it is punctured in
the sidewall area, or if a puncture in
the tread area is larger than 6 mm
(3/16 in). These punctures cannot
be repaired adequately.
