Chapter 2: Maintenance and Component Installation
Power Supply
The E403-9D-4C/8CN/12C/14C/14CN/16C-FN13TP includes a 600W AC multi-output PFC
Gold Certified power supply that can be removed and replaced.
Removing and Replacing the Power Supply
1. Remove the power cord by following the steps in Section 2.1.
2. Remove the top cover by following the steps in Section 2.2.
3. To access the motherboard, remove the expansion card module and the hard drive cage
as described on pages 31-34. Make sure to disconnect the extension cables from the
motherboard and the power supply.
4. Remove any cables routed through the air shroud. Lift the air shroud out of the chassis.
5. With access to the motherboard, disconnect the ATX 24-pin power cable (JPWR1) and
the 8-pin power cable (JPV1).
6. Remove three screws on the chassis as shown in Figure 2-19 and set them aside.
7. Carefully lift the power supply out of the chassis.
8. Carefully place a new power supply into the chassis with the fan at the top rear. Install
the three screws.
9. Reconnect the ATX 24-pin and 8-pin power cable to the motherboard.
