Chapter 1: Introduction
ATI Graphics Controller
The X7DBR-8 features an integrated ATI video controller based on the ES1000
graphics chip. The ES1000 was designed specifi cally for servers, featuring low
power consumption, high reliability and superior longevity.
Other Features
Other onboard features that promote system health include onboard voltage moni-
tors, a chassis intrusion header, auto-switching voltage regulators, chassis and CPU
overheat sensors, virus protection and BIOS rescue.
1-3 Server Chassis Features
The SuperServer 6015B-8 is a high-end, scaleable server platform built upon the
SC815S-560 1U server chassis. The following is a general outline of the main
features of the SC815S-560 chassis.
System Power
The SC815S-560 features a single 560W power supply. Power must be removed
from the system before servicing or replacing the power supply.
Serial ATA Subsystem
The SC815S-560 chassis was designed to support four SCSI hard drives, which
are hot-swappable units.
Note: The operating system you use must have RAID support to enable the hot-
swap capability of the drives.
PCI Expansion Slots
One standard size and one low-profi le PCI-X/PCI-E add-on card may be used with
the SC815S-560 chassis. See section 5-6 for details.
Front Control Panel
The SC815S-560's control panel provides you with system monitoring and control.
LEDs indicate system power, HDD activity, network activity (2) and overheat/fan
failure. A main power button and system reset buttons are also included.
