Removing the Heatsink
Note:
We do not recommend that the CPU or the heatsink be removed. However, if you must
remove the heatsink, follow the instructions below to avoid damage.
1. Remove power from the system as described in Section 3.1.
2. Remove the air shroud from the heatsink. Note that the taped surface of both sides of
the air shroud will retain their adhesive so that you can re-attach it to the heatsink later.
3. Disconnect the heatsink fan wires from the CPU fan header.
4. Loosen the screws evenly and gradually in the order above.
5. Gently wriggle the heatsink to loosen and remove it. Do not use excessive force.
