System Cooling
Ten 4-cm counter-rotating fans provide the cooling for the system. Each fan unit is actually
made up of two fans joined back-to-back, which rotate in opposite directions. This counter-
rotating action generates exceptional airflow and works to dampen vibration levels.
It is very important that the chassis top cover is properly installed and making a good seal in
order for the cooling air to circulate properly through the chassis and cool the components.
Installing an SIOM Card
The SIOM card provides options for network connection. It is inserted into a SIOM slot on the
motherboard. This installation is usually performed by a system integrator or manufacturer.
1. Remove power from the system as described in Section 3.1 and remove the cover as
described in Section 3.2.
2. Position the card with its cover bracket in front of the SIOM slot and gently push in both
sides of the card until it slides into the slot.
3. Secure the SIOM card cover bracket to the chassis with the screw.
