4-4 Power Supply
The SC828 chassis has a 1000 or 1200 Watt power supply. This power supply is
auto-switching capable. This enables it to automatically sense and operate at a 100v
to 240v input voltage. The SC828 chassis has two power supplies. In the unlikely
event that a power supply unit fails, the system will shut down and you will need to
change the power supply unit. New units can be ordered directly from Supermicro
(see contact information in the Preface).
Removing the Power Supply

Unplug all power leading to the chassis.

Disconnect all wiring from the power supply.

Remove the two screws which hold the power cord channel cover in place

and the power cord channel cover off of the power cord channel.
Remove the single screw securing the power cord channel to the power dis-

tributor and lift it off of the power distributor.
Remove the two mounting screws which secure the power distributor to the

floor of the chassis and lift it out of the chassis.
