Noncombustible material (minimum requirements) with wood mantel or 
other combustible projections: 

To install the fi rebox with a wood mantel, 

shelf or other combustible projection above fi rebox opening.  Refer to 

Figures 4, 5 & 6.

If your mantel profi le is unsafe, you may either:

•  Raise the mantel to an acceptable
 height, 

or

• Remove 

the 

mantel.

Floor clearance:

 These fi replaces may sit directly on a combustible surface.   

The appliance should be mounted on a fully supported base extending the 
full width and depth of the unit. The appliance may be located on or near 
conventional construction materials.  However,

if installed on combustible materials, such as carpeting, vinyl tile, etc., a metal 
or wood barrier covering the entire bottom surface must be used.

Canopy is required on all installations for this model only.

EXAMPLE:  If you choose to install a mantel that projects 5", you will need to 

install it so that the bottom of the mantel and trim is approximately 13" or more 
above Firebox opening (see coordinate in shaded area above).

EXAMPLE:  If you choose to install a mantel that projects 4", you will need to install it 

so that the bottom of the mantel and trim is approximately 13" or more above Firebox 
opening (see coordinate in shaded area above).

EXAMPLE:  If you choose to install a mantel that projects 7", you will need to install it 

so that the bottom of the mantel and trim is approximately 19" or more above Firebox 
opening (see coordinate in shaded area above).
