slightly forward and lift up to remove it from the hot tub frame. Place
the panel is a safe location to prevent from damaging it.
Note:
Two
people might be required for this process.
4. Locate one of the two drains that you would like to use, Figure 13.3c.
Either the Quick Drain (A) or the 3/4” drain valve (B). Once you
choose a draining method, follow the procedures for that method.
A.
Draining procedures for the Quick Drain:
1. Turn off power to hot tub at breaker.
2. Locate the Quick Drain Valve, Figure 13.3d.
3. Unscrew drain valve cap (Figure 13.3e). Place the
cap aside.
4. Screw in the adapter with hose that was included
in the equipment bay. Attach it to the quick drain
(Figure 13.3e). Make sure to direct the hose to an
area where the water will drain properly.
5. Open the drain slice valve by sliding the handle to
the side and pulling up.
6. After the hot tub has drained close the slice valve
by pushing it downward and sliding the handle to the
side. Remove the adapter and reinstall the Quick drain cap before
refilling hot tub.

Refer to “Hot Tub Fill Up Procedure” (page 18) for recom-
mended filling instructions.
B.
Draining Procedures for the Drain Valve:
1. Turn off power to hot tub at breaker.
2. Locate drain hose line attached to the 2 x 4 wood
slat, Figure 13.3f. Hold drain hose above water line.
Unscrew drain valve cap to expose the underlying
male garden hose fitting, Figure 13.3g.
3. Attach female garden hose end to drain fitting and route
opposite end of garden hose away from hot tub,
Figure 13.3g.
Note:
Make sure to direct water away
from hot tub.
4. After spa has completely drained, reinstall drain cap
on drain valve finger tight! DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!
5. Place drain hose back inside the spa equipment bay.
Note:
Refer to “Hot Tub Fill Up Procedure” (page 18) for
recommended filling instructions.
13.4 Cleaning The Hot Tub Interior
To preserve the sheen of your hot tub’s surface, it is crucial that you
avoid using abrasive cleaners or cleaners which have adverse chemical
effect on the surface. If you are not certain as to the suitability of a
particular cleanser, consult your authorized Sundance Spas dealer.
Regardless of the cleanser used, use extreme care to assure that no
soap residue is left on the surface. This could cause severe sudsing
when the hot tub is refilled.
