BEFORE ASKING FOR SERVICE
Before asking for service, please check each item below if you have trouble with your air conditioner.
PROBLEM
SOLUTION
The air conditioner will not operate.
The power supply cord may be unplugged - push
plug
fi
rmly into the wall outlet.
The plug current device may be tripped - press
RESET.
The house fuse may be blown or tripped - replace
fuse with a time delay or reset circuit breaker.
The selector control is in the OFF position. Turn
selector to the ON position or the desired FAN or
COOL setting.
The air conditioner was turned off by moving
the thermostat to a higher number and then
immediately turning back to a cooler number
- wait about three minutes and listen for the
compressor.
The air conditioner was turned off and then on
too quickly - turn air conditioner off and wait
three minutes before restarting.
The thermostat is set too low - adjust the
thermostat to a cooler temperature.

The air from unit does not feel cold enough.
Turn the selector to a higher COOL position.
The thermostat was set too warm - set the
thermostat to a cooler temperature.
The room temperature is below 60
°F (16°C) - to
defrost the coil, set the selector to FAN, then set the
thermostat to a warmer position.
The temperature sensing tube is touching cold coils
behind the air
fi
lter - straighten tube away from
coil.

The air conditioner is cooling, but the room is
too warm - ice is forming on the cooling coil
behind the decorative front.
The outdoor temperature is below 60
°F (16°C) -
to defrost the coil, set selector to the FAN position,
then set the thermostat to a warmer setting.

lter may be dirty and restricting air -
clean

lter.
The thermostat may be set too cold for nighttime
cooling - to defrost the coil, set the selector to
FAN, then set the thermostat to a warmer setting.
