Downhill Assist Control
The Downhill Assist Control function helps maintain a consistent
vehicle speed when driving down steep hills or declines. Downhill
Assist Control is automatically activated and set in standby mode
when X-MODE
®
is activated. The Downhill Assist Control Indicator
appears in white when in standby, and the function operates when
vehicle speed is less than approximately 18 mph.
Grip Control
The Grip Control function can
maintain a constant speed (from
about 1 to 6 mph) without slipping
on rough roads, including uphill
and downhill slopes. To activate
grip control, first press the
X-MODE
®
switch (activating either
SNOW/DIRT or DEEP
SNOW/MUD), and then operate
the Grip Control Adjustment
switch down. X-MODE
®
and
Downhill Assist are set in standby
and Grip Control activates. You
can adjust the speed using the
Grip Control Adjustment switch.
Grip Control is deactivated by pressing the X-MODE
®
switch again, completely stopping
the vehicle with the brake pedal, or when vehicle speed reaches 13 mph or more.
