4. Trouble-Shooting
Error Explanation Action
Error Messages in the Display
Motor overload. The cutting motor has been
overloaded for a period and the
thermo switch has stopped the
motor. Open the protection guard and wait
until the cutting motor has cooled
down. The machine can be re-
started when the error message
disappears in the display.
Position error. The feed speed has been reduced
to the lowest speed (0.05mm/s), by
the user or automatically. In spite of
this, the feed speed could not be
kept up. The cutting process stops. Choose a cut-off wheel which is
more suitable for the material to be
cut.
The cutting arm has been blocked
physically. Check whether the cutting arm is
really blocked physically, e.g. by the
flange or by the workpiece.
Guard open. The desired cutting operation
cannot start before the guard has
been closed. Close the guard and try again.
No cooling. The cooling valve is not in cooling
position. Check cooling valve setting.
Display is blank. The backlight is automatically
switched off. Press any key to reactivate the
backlight.
Problems that require a Struers Service Technician
Unable to lock guard. The safety lock in the guard is out of
order and it is possible to open the
guard during the cutting process. Press the protection guard
completely down. If this does not
help:
Call a Struers service technician.
The safety switch still stops the
cutting motor and the cutting
process. The mechanical safety switch still
functions, but the safety lock must
be repaired as soon as possible.
Pump overload. The motor of the recirculation pump
has been overloaded. The cutting
process stops. The pump has probably been
blocked with cutting debris. Clean
the pump, and call a Struers service
technician to release the thermo
relay.
