Appendix 2: Hard Disk Capacity Calculation Method (For Your Inference)
To Caculate HD capacity that connects to DVR on base of the requrie of record(compress parameter of
coding setting)
Si = （ D*3600 ） / （ 8*1024 ） = D * 0.439453125 MB
St = T * S1
Suppose alarming rate is a %, the total capacity of HD for alarming record could be caculate with refer to
the total capacity of timing record Sc.
Sa = Sc * α %
Calculate the compression bit rate for recording T hours.
Di = S / n
Dt = Di / T
Dc = Dt * （ 8*1024 ） / 3600 = Dt * 2.2756 （ Kbit/s ）

First to caculate the max HD interspace (Si (Mbyte) )of single channel in 1hour, suppose code rate
of the channel is D(Kbit/s), then the fomula as below:
Make out the time for record saving T(hour),and caculate the max interspace of signle channel,
fomula as below:
Make the no. of channle of this equipment as n, S 1 is capacity of channel 1, S 2 is capacity of
channel 2. Then the total capacity of the HD as:
