NFORMATION
The Freedom SCS System uses wireless technology to program the WAA and to
power the Stimulator. The WAA is programmed utilizing Bluetooth® data
communication protocol. Bluetooth is used only during programming sessions
and only by a trained clinician. Various programs are stored in memory within
the WAA, which can be selected as needed.

Quality of Service
In order for the Freedom SCS System to operate, WAA
should be centered over Stimulator-Receiver within 0.8
inches or 2 cm. WAA should be worn in the same
position as when it was originally fitted. When the
wireless link between the WAA and Stimulator is broken,
stimulation will cease. The wireless link may not
function in the presence of large magnetic or radio fields.

Wireless link active less than 10% of the time when WAA
is 1 inch or closer to the implant.
Wireless Security
Stimulator will only operate within a short distance of
WAA. The WAA uses encryption and proprietary data
protocols to reduce the likelihood of inadvertent control
or malicious “hacking” through Bluetooth®. Only the
WaveCrest Application is able to communicate with the
WAA via Bluetooth®. No identifiable personal data is
stored or transmitted by the WAA.
