objects: Do not start the engine.

■ The slide control is in position 

 for

engine starts. Engine RPM in posi‐
tion 

 is higher than idle speed and the

blades may rotate as soon as the engine runs.

This can result in serious injuries.

► Do not touch the blades.

■ The user cannot concentrate on the work in

certain situations. The user can lose control of

the cultivator, stumble or fall and be seriously

injured.

► Work calmly and carefully.

► If light and visibility are poor: Do not use

your cultivator.

► Operate the cultivator without assistance.

► Keep the blades close to the ground.

► Watch out for obstacles.

► If you use the cultivator on stony or hard

soil: Do not operate at full throttle.

► Stand on the ground while working and

keep a good balance.

► If you begin to feel tired: Take a break.

► If it is necessary to work on a slope: Work

across the slope.

► Do not work on steep slopes.

■ Exhaust gas is produced when the engine is

running. Breathing in exhaust gas can have

toxic effects.

► Avoid inhaling exhaust gas.

► Operate the cultivator in a well ventilated

location.

► In the event of nausea, headache, visual

disturbances, problems with hearing or diz‐

ziness: Stop work and seek medical advice.

■ The user’s ability to hear and assess noises is

restricted when wearing hearing protection

with the engine running.

► Work calmly and carefully.

■ The user will not be able to control the cultiva‐

tor if it is operated with the slide control in
position 

. This can result in serious

injuries.

► Check that the slide control is in position 

during operation.

► Start the engine as described in this instruc‐

tion manual.

■ The rotating blades can cut the user. This can

result in serious injuries.

► Do not touch rotating blades.

► If the blades are blocked by an object: Shut

off the engine. Then remove the object

causing the blockage.

■ The cultivator can be damaged if you open the

throttle when the blades are blocked by an

object.

► Shut off the engine. Then remove the object

causing the blockage.

■ If the behavior of the cultivator changes during

operation or feels unusual, it may no longer be

in a safe condition. This can result in serious

injuries and damage to property.

► Stop work and contact your STIHL dealer

for assistance.

■ Vibrations may occur while using the cultiva‐

tor.

► Wear gloves.

► Take regular breaks.

► If signs of circulation problems occur: Seek

medical advice.

■ Note that the blades continue to rotate for a

short period after you release the throttle trig‐

ger. This can result in serious injuries.

► Wait until the blades come to a complete

standstill.

■ Working near live electric cables can result in

accidental contact with the blades and dam‐

age the cables. This can result in serious or

fatal injuries.

► Do not work near live electric cables.

Transporting

WARNING

■ The gearbox can get hot during operation.

There is a risk of burn injuries.

► Do not touch a hot gearbox.

■ The cultivator may turn over or shift during

transport. This may result in personal injuries

and damage to property.

► Shut off the engine.

► Secure the cultivator with lashing straps or

a net to prevent it turning over and moving.

■ The muffler and engine may be hot after a

period of operation. There is a risk of burn

injuries.

► Tilt the cultivator onto its wheels for trans‐

portation.
