8. Safety
8.1 country-specific safety information
All required steps to complete commissioning must be carried
out by a heating contractor. During this process, these installation
instructions must be observed.
We guarantee trouble-free function and operational reliability
only if the original accessories and spare parts intended for the
device are used.
8.2 Instructions, standards and regulations
!
Risk of damage!
Observe the type plate. The stated voltage must
match the mains voltage.
Danger to life through electrocution!
All electrical connection and installation work must
be carried out in accordance with VDE regulations
(DIN VDE 0100) [or local regulations], the rules
of your local power supply utility, and relevant
national and local regulations.
Danger to life through electrocution!
Connection to the power supply is only possible as a
permanent connection.
The device must be able to be separated from the
mains power supply by an isolator that disconnects
all poles with at least 3 mm contact separation.
9. Device description
9.1 Properties
The device is a universal heat meter for solar and conventional
heating systems.
The device particularly allows for the fact that the density and
specific thermal capacity of the heat transfer medium are subject
to the temperature and the water:glycol ratio. The device calculates
the heat volume using these parameters, the flow and return
temperatures measured by two precision temperature sensors,
and the evaluation of pulses from a volumeter.
The heat volume captured and the system parameters set are
saved if a power failure occurs. It is operated by pushbuttons that
navigate a menu, which let you select different display points or
switch control levels.
The graphic display on the first level shows the temperature at
specific test points, the volume of heat absorbed, the current
output and the system flow rate. Furthermore, a control LED serves
to display sensor faults and incorrect sensor connections.
The second level serves to display system settings and control
values that can be adjusted accordingly if the system characteristics
change.
The device has its own power supply. Further modules can be
connected via a BUS connection. The VBUS
®
connection enables
all display values to be transferred to a corresponding controller,
PC or datalogger, for further processing or evaluation.
