Other Features
Integral sounder volume:
The Alert Point has 2 volume settings – High and Low: this
is determined by the position of the jumper connector configuration show below.
High: Jumper between centre pin and bottom pin (factory setting)
Low: Jumper between centre pin and top pin
Note:
Silencing the Alert Point is possible by not having the jumper fitted, but no
sound will be produced by the integral sounder during alarm, fault or tamper conditions.
Low battery check:
The Alert Point monitors the output power of the 9 VDC battery
in 16 minute cycles. If the battery falls below the
recommended power level the unit will display a fault, emitting
a periodic single beep.
Battery life:
The working life of the 9 VDC battery under normal `standby’
condition is a minimum of 15 months: it is recommended that
this battery is replaced at least every 15 months.
Battery back up:
When the Alert Point is powered by a 12-30 VDC power
supply, the 9 VDC battery will become a backup if the external
power is lost. The unit will display a fault until the external
power
has
been
restored.
