Clipped-Wing Taylorcraft -
Background
Our clipped-wing version of the Taylorcraft was based on the company’s Model B. The Model B was
designed as a light, side-by-side, two-place, single-engine, high-wing general aviation monoplane.
The Model B was built in large numbers during the late 1930s and early 1940s. The Taylorcraft Model B
was purchased mainly by private pilots, and large numbers were sold in the United States, Canada, and
several overseas countries, including Europe. Many are still active today and can be seen flying at air
shows and general aviation airports all over the world.
The Stevens AeroModel version of this classic plane was based on a clipped-wing version that was
modified by John Vasey and flown by world-famous acrobatic pilot Duane Cole. The beautiful red and
white color scheme with upside-down name on the fuselage was too hard to resist.
Our Clipped-Wing Taylorcraft was designed on state-of-the-art CAD/CAM systems, and features design
and construction techniques pioneered by Stevens AeroModel. Our unique tab and notch construction
allows a quick and simple build, which will get you and your model in the air quickly. The docile, yet
nimble flight performance of this model will provide the pilot with plenty of excitement during their next
private air show, indoors at the local gym, or outdoors on a calm and beautiful day.
