Fuselage
(continued)
9.
Turn the fuselage assembly
upside down
on the workbench. Begin the landing gear pocket
assembly by fitting part F7 (sheet 08/08, 1/32 in. ply) to the two slots in the
bottom
of F4,
and the oversized notch along the
bottom
edge of the fuselage side. This notch is
oversized so that all three of the landing gear pocket parts will fit. F9 will occupy the
f
orward
portion of this notch.
Do not bond!
10.
Fit F8 (sheet 08/08, 1/32 in. ply) to the notch in the fuselage side, immediately
behind
and
against F7.
Do not bond!
11.
Fit F9 (sheet 08/08, 1/32 in. ply) to the notch in the fuselage side and the single slot in F4,
immediately
behind
and against F8.
Do not bond!
12.
Assemble the
left
fuselage side from parts F10a, F10b, and F10c (sheet 01/08, 1/20 in.
balsa). Fit and “tack glue” F10 to the
left
side of the fuselage assembly. Square the
assembly on a flat surface and “final bond” all parts together with CA.
13.
Aft Fuselage:
Fit and “tack glue” former F11 (sheet 03/08, 1/20 in. balsa) to the slots
midway back in the fuselage sides, oriented so that the
top
of F11 corresponds with the
top
of formers F3 and F5.
14.
Assemble the aft fuselage
top
from parts F12a and F12b (sheet 02/08, 1/20 in. balsa). Bond
with CA.
15.
Fit and “tack glue” the F12 assembly to the notches along the
top
edge of the aft fuselage
sides, and to formers F5 and F11.
16.
Assemble the aft fuselage
bottom
from parts F13a, F13b, F13d (sheet 01/08, 1/20 in.
balsa), and F13c (sheet 03/08, 1/20 in. balsa), bond with CA.
