To Set Up a Fixed IP Address in Windows XP or Windows 7
Click
Start / Control Panel / Network Connections
to find the network connection that represents
your connection to the Internet. Most often, this is labeled simply
Local Area Connection
. Right click
the connection and select
Properties
. Click
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
in the list (you may have to
scroll down the list to find it) Click
Properties
. Most default configurations will have both
Obtain an IP
address
and
Obtain DNS server address automatically
selected by default. Click
Use the following
IP address
and enter the following:
IP address:
192.168.1.2
subnet mask:
255.255.255.0
default gateway:
192.168.1.1
Click
OK
to close the configuration windows, and you should now be able to access the Model P1 via
your Internet browser.
