5. Detection zone
Reliable presence detection depends largely on the number, quality and arrange-
ment of the lens elements. The IR Micro LiveLink - with its high-resolution sensor
system, including multi-segment pyro sensor - provides reliable, precision detec-
tion over 6 × 6 metres. The square detection zone provides the basis for creating
optimum configurations quickly and easily.

Cause
Remedy
Light does not switch
ON
L
LiveLink box faulty
L
Lux setting too low
L
No motion being
detected
L
Replace LiveLink box
L
Slowly increase lux set-
ting until light switches

L
Ensure unobstructed
sensor vision
L
Check detection zone
Light does not switch

Stay-ON time still effec-
tive

Interfering heat sources:
e.g. fan heater, open
doors and windows,
pets, light bulb / halogen
floodlight, moving ob-
jects
L
Reduce lux setting
L
Wait until stay-ON time
elapses; reduce stay-ON
time if necessary
L
Use stickers to mask out
stationary sources of
interference
Sensor switches OFF in
spite of persons being
present

Stay-ON time too short
L
Light-level threshold too
low
L
Increase stay-ON time
L
Change light threshold
Sensor does not switch
OFF quickly enough
L
Stay-ON time too long
L
Reduce stay-ON time
Sensor does not switch
ON quickly enough
