5.1 Read codes
5.2 Erase codes
Code types:
• Stored codes are also known as “hard
codes” or “Permanent codes”.
These codes cause the control module
to illuminate the malfunction indicator
light(MIL)
• Pending Codes are also referred
to as “maturing codes” or “conti-
nuous monitor codes”. They indicate
problems that the control module has
detected during the current or last
driving cycle, but are not considered
serious, yet.
Read Codes:
1. In Main Menu select Diagnostic Menu
and press ENTER.
2. In Diagnostic Menu select Read Codes
3. Select Stored Codes or Pending
Codes.
4. If there aren´t any DTC´s present the
display will show “No saved pending
codes”. Wait a few seconds or press
any button to return to the Diagnostic
Menu.
5. If fault codes is found more than one
you can view them all by scrolling up/
down the display.
NOTE!
• Erasing of fault codes is at your
own risk.
• Do not erase any error codes
before you know their meaning and
effect on vehicle function.
• Erase codes so that the ignition is on,
but do not start the engine.
• Before erasing the codes make sure to
retrieve and record the trouble codes.
• After erasing the codes, you should
retrieve trouble codes once more with
the OBD reader or turn ignition off for a
moment and turn on again, but do not
start the engine then the reader will
retrieve the codes again.
