6. After "CAL" mode, you will need to set your datum or zero reference. The reference
zero position can be the surface plate itself, a gage block or a reference surface
on a product/part.
7. Move the slide to your zero or datum position and lock the slide, press the Shift
button followed by pressing the Preset button twice. The gage will now be zeroed.
8. To exit ABS mode press the Zero/ABS button. The display will show a dashed
line that will incrementally disappear from left to right; this is a visual clue on
how long you should wait for the tool to zero out, less than a second. Make sure
not to move the slide during that time or whenever you zero the tool make sure
the slide is locked.
