Also Keep In Mind:
When transporting your boat, it is necessary to know the height of your boat on
the trailer. Adding an additional 8” to that height will give you a buffer for clearing most
overhead obstructions. Check routes for any height hazards that may exist and plan accord-
ingly. Be aware of clearance heights at gas stations, hotels/motels, banks, and any other place
with overhead coverings.
Your brakes may have reduced capacity after the reloading of your boat.
Pumping brakes several times while traveling at a slowed speed should help
the drying process. Continue to check brakes until satisfied that they are at
optimal working condition before increasing speed.
Fueling Your Boat:
GASOLINE IS A FIRE HAZARD! Please handle fueling with extreme care.
Do not smoke.
Shut the engine off while fueling.
Be careful when fueling during hot weather as gasoline can expand causing pressure to build
within the portable tanks. Never fill the tank to capacity. This will allow room for expansion.
Do not use any fuel containing alcohol or a derivative. Only use fuel that is recommended by
your engine manufacturer. Many hi-bred gasolines have uncertain results and should not be
used. Doing otherwise may cause damage to hoses, lines, and systems that could create a
safety and health concern. Refer to engine owner’s manual for details.
Filling the primary tank:
Remove fuel fill cap. Insert fuel nozzle.
Pump 5 gallons. Stop. Inspect engine and fuel tank for any signs of leakage. If there are no
leaks, continue filling. If tank is not filling at a normal speed, check for plugged fuel vent or
kink in lines.
NEVER over fill.
Allow some space at the top of the tank for expansion.
Replace fuel fill cap. Wash off any fuel spillage around the fill area. Dispose of any used
rags.
Loading Passengers & Gear:
It is important that you are aware of the maximum weight capacity for
your boat before passengers and gear are brought aboard. A capacity label located on your
boat indicates the maximum capacity allowed under normal conditions. Adjustments may be
needed if weather conditions are less than ideal.
DO NOT overload or overpower your boat!
Boarding Your Boat:
Passengers should board the boat one person at a time and should find a seat
immediately. Passengers should not jump into the boat. Passengers should never ride on sun-
pads, gunwales or outside of the railing. Passengers should never ride with feet dangling out-
side of the boat. Failure of passengers to ride in appropriate seats can cause serious or fatal
injury. Gear should be passed from the dock to some one in the boat and should be stowed in
secure storage areas. Safety gear should be easily accessible.
Boat Weight Distribution:
The handling of your boat as well as the ride are effected by the distribu-
tion of weight. Weight should be spread evenly from bow to stern and port to starboard. Ex-
cessive weight in either the bow or stern can cause ventilation problems. See engine owner’s
manual for additional information.
CAUTION!!
