2. Lift up the cover of the USB socket.
3. Plug the USB-powered device into the USB socket and operate normally.
Notes:
This unit’s USB socket does not support data communication. It only provides 5 volts/2A DC power to an external USB-powered device.
Make sure the USB power button is in the off position when the unit is being recharged or stored.
Some household USB-powered electronics will not operate with this unit.
Using the 12V DC power socket
This portable power source is also for use with all 12 volt DC accessories equipped with a male accessory socket plug and are rated up to 5
amps.
1. Lift up the cover of the unit ‘s 12V DC socket.
2. Insert the 12 volt DC plug from the appliance into the 12V DC accessory socket on the unit. DO NOT EXCEED A 5 AMP LOAD.

CHARGING THE UNIT
This unit is shipped in a partially charged state.
•
Charge the unit before first use using the mains charging adapter for 24 hours.
Lead-acid batteries require routine maintenance to ensure a full charge and a long battery life. All batteries lose energy from self-discharge
over time and more rapidly at higher temperatures. When the unit is not in use, manufacturer recommend that the battery is charged at least
every 30 days.
•
Check the battery charge level by pressing the battery status pushbutton. The LED charge status display will indicate the level of battery
charge. When only one red LED lights, charge the unit.
•
Make sure all other unit functions are turned off during recharging, as this can slow the recharging process.
Note:
Charging the battery after each use will prolong the battery life; frequent heavy discharges between charges and/or overcharging will reduce battery life.
Important!
When the battery is overly discharged and if the green LED is lit when the charger is plugged in, this indicates the battery is at a
high impedance stage. In this event, recharge the unit and leave the unit charging for a period of 24 hours before use.
Charging the unit using the mains charging adapter
•
Insert the jack of the appropriate mains charging adapter (either the EU model or the GB model) into the DC charging socket on the back of
the unit.
•
Insert the appropriate mains charging adapter plug into a mains power socket.
•
Charge until two red and one green (full) battery status LEDs light or flash.
•
Continue to charge for one to two more hours.
•
Once fully charged disconnect the mains charging adapter from the mains power socket and then remove the jack plug of mains charging
adapter from the DC charging socket on the back of the unit. Store it in a safe place.
12 volt DC charging method (optional accessory)
Charging the unit from an external 12 volt DC power source requires the use of the 12V DC charging adapter. This adapter has a male DC
connector at each end.
1. Insert the 12 volt DC charging adapter plug with the grooved tip into the vehicle’s 12V DC accessory outlet or other 12 volt DC power
source.
2. Insert the other end plug into the 12 volt DC accessory outlet on the front panel of the unit.
3. Charge the unit until the green FULL indicator lights when the battery power level button is pressed (with the adapter unplugged from the
unit). DO NOT CHARGE MORE THAN 6 HOURS MAXIMUM USING THIS METHOD.
4. When charging is complete, remove the charging cord and store in a safe place.
Notes:
Some vehicles require that the ignition be switched to the accessory outlet position in order to power the accessory outlet.
DO NOT LEAVE THE UNIT UNATTENDED WHEN CHARGING USING THE THIS METHOD.
USE
Using the unit as a jump-starter
Warning!
Make sure that the vehicle is in neutral with the parking brake applied.
Note:
If your connections are incorrectly made, the unit will beep continuously and the red reverse polarity indicator will illuminate, even if the on/off switch is in
the off position. Rectify the connections immediately.
Warning!
Make sure that the cables are not in the path of moving belts or the fan.
1. Turn off the vehicles ignition and all accessories before making any connections.
2. Make sure that the jump-starter on/off switch is turned off.
3. The following procedure is for a negative earth system ie the negative battery terminal is connected to the chassis.
