4.1
Function
Application range
The bus-Carrier is a piece of electrical equipment designed in accordance with the
Ex nA degree of protection and is intended for the following tasks:
• For the use in Zone 2 hazardous areas or in safe areas.
• Mounting one or two FG-200 linking devices from Softing and simplex or redundant
supply of up to 4 FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 segments through 9412 fieldbus power
supplies for each.
• For supplying fieldbus power supplies with auxiliary power (simplex or redundant).
• For reporting line faults and auxiliary power failure using message contacts on the
bus-Carrier.
The attached devices (FPS, LD) are supplied with auxiliary power through the carrier and
are connected to each other and to fieldbus connections and Ethernet (LD) located on
the bus-Carrier.
